It seems like every recruiter asks the same questions and I give the same answers regardless of having access to my resume or anything I've said or done. So I figured I'd put this FAQ out here to make it easier for those who will read it. And it just makes it easier for me to cut and paste these answers for the others.

  1. Are you looking for a new job, employment, opportunity?

      I am always interested in hearing of possibilities...

  2. What position, title, function(s)?

      I would be interested in a Director/Sr. Development Manager type of position, especially in the area of Professional and Consulting Services

  3. Will you accept both contract and permanent work?

      I am not at all interested in contract work. I am also not interested in permanent work AS a contractor or a consultant.

  4. Are you willing to move?

      I would be interesting in hearing of permanent opportunities in the Atlanta area - though it is not impossible that for the right opportunity I would consider relocating - it is unlikely (although if you have a position in South Florida let's talk)

      In fact I'm not even all that interested in traveling far.

      For those unfamiliar with Marietta, lets say that Lawrenceville, Snellville, McDonough and Douglasville would all be considered far. My preference would be something north of the city like Marietta, Buckhead or Roswell.

  5. Would you accept a job that was in C (or Visual Basic, or COBOL, or ...)?

      My programming strengths are for the most part in web-based applications and my preferences lean more towards languages such as Perl, ASP, ColdFusion, Javascript, PHP, JSP, and the like. I have been working with PHP and Java quite a bit over the last few years and that certainly would be interesting to me.

  6. What about EDI?

      As you may have noted I have worked for an EDI software and services company for four years. This tends to make one somewhat familiar with general EDI concepts and standards. However, I am not an EDI coordinator/EDI consultant, EDI mapping expert or anything of the like.

  7. Could you forward me your resume?

  8. When would you be available for employment?

      I am currently employed. Upon accepting a new position I would be expect to give a typical two-three week notice.
