I haven't seen the river in a few weeks, but I think you'd be better off wading. There's a lot of areas that I think you might just be better off beating the bush back. I haven't fished it all the way through the WMA, but have done quite a bit in the Big Canoe, Wildcat Creek area (the area that was aquired 5 or 6 years ago).

I lease a large tract of land for hunting that is behind Bert's Pumpkin Farm. The two streams on the property eventually feed the Amicalola, and are full of trout.

Most large sports stores have the "North Georgia WMA Map." It's one of the ones done by Kingfisher. You should be able to get all the info that you need from it.
