I just came back from Prince of Wales island near Ketchikan, AK. The fishing was horrible. The sockeye came at night when the tide was high and most were waiting outside the cove. The stream was a foot low and there had been no rain to speak of in weeks. It was 85 degrees when we got there. We rowed across a very large lake and saw no aquatic life whatsoever. But, the camping was nice and the two sockeyes we did catch were mighty tasty. The trout were extremely small but fun to catch. Maybe it's Sitka next time in a non-El Nino year.
