As for govt intervention, I still laugh when I see
a real estate ad for mountain land. The
best (most $$$) land always seem to "borders Forest Service land". I guess this is so because
a land purchaser does not want a chicken house, clear cut, or junk car lot next to their land. I guess one can assume that the fed
govt will not do this but a local business man
might.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the fed govt
purchase quite a bit of the mountain lands we
fish? This was done due to logging, mining, and other uncontrolled abuses.

I'm thankful that federal forests were created because if they weren't, it would all be
private and we would all be fishing at Brigadoon.
