This sounds silly but it works. Get a 36 inch or so dowl rod (sp). Tie
a 36 inch of heavy yarn to the end. Your daughter then can practice the
mechanics of this in the house, around the yard, in her room etc. It teaches you
the correct wrist motions in casting. Plus if you have a cat she can cast at
it will make it a ton more fun for her. THen she can cast to, and catch the cat.
Great practice. I actually have a smaller peice of a dowl rod here at the office
with string attached that I practice my casting while I talk on the phone.
Helps past the time, and my tailing loops have FINALLY started to go away.
