Thought I'd bring up something that I'd never really thought about before. I usually fish with the same people and when I go with someone new I typically inspect their credentials. Not that they hav to have any "experience" or fish in any particular way(meat or fly)but that they are a normal person who truly enjoys fishing.
This past weekend I had to go to a wedding in Pensacola. My girlfriend knew I had no interest so she suggested that I fish both days with her cousin. Sounded like a great idea. WRONG. We fished the Gulf and caught a few Red Snapper and tried to catch a red on Sunday. But it turns out that this guy is the most pompous Jack A$$ abnoxious no fish catchin $#$* I have ever met. Ruined the whole weekend and the fishing. Thinking about ditching the girlfriend because of it. Point is, don't take the good people you fish with for granted. There are some real turdz out there.
