Not a hopper exactly, but this time of year there are thousands of katydids that begin their serenade in the mountains at dark and keep it up all night. A few must fall into the creek. Tied up something like a Joes Hopper but all in green with a katydid in mind and as a whim tried it on Noontootla right at dark when I was about to leave and caught a 14" rainbow right at the truck. Wish I'd tried it earlier and haven't been back to see if this was just a fluke. I haven't ever seen a katydid pattern but??? Anybody else tried a katydid pattern? If so, how'd it do and how'd you tie it?
Just an idea -- JPool
