An Adams is hard to be as an overall fly, since it suggests so many different insects. But I think size and presentation are more important than pattern. An Elk-hair caddis, or a Henryville, and you ought to be OK.

I like a Royal Trude or Royal Wuff for attractor patterns on faster water.
