Last time out the trout (stocked browns) in the hole
I was fishing became tight lipped, I tried every type
of dry and nymph in my box without any luck. Out of
desperation I tried a fly I had tied out of gold braid
from a craft store. I split the braid at the end to
give it three tails tapered the body and abdomen as
you would a GRHE, no legs. The trout swarmed this fly
like bream on a peice of bread, had a great time untill
I lost it on the bottom. I tied another the other day
and went back to see if this was a fluke, it worked
just as well as the first. The water was very clear,
i've been told that gold works well in stained water
but this stuff was like glass. Anybody?
