MM,

Your fly selection is one of my favorite choices for that stretch. You might want to try the prince as a dropper and fish the heads and tailouts of the runs that are over a foot deep. The area gets alot of stocking so you should be able to get into some good fishing. The area around and below the island has been good most of the year, but your better fishing will be down river past the boat ramp and that is accessable for the most part by float tube. I have never had much luck this time of year in the shoal area...I have to say that the island and down river from that point are much better by far.

Try around the island and if the black bugger does not work try an olive and a bead head will always work better in my opinion. Remember to mend your line in the deeper spots as this will help the fly sink closer to the bottom.

Good Luck,

Flyguy
