It depends on what model of those rods you get. I don't have a Diamondback, but do have the others. St. Croix is a very good rod, if it's the Legend or the newer Legend Ultra. I have a Legend, and it's a very fine fast action rod. The other St. Croix rods are mid action to slower rods, and if that style suits your casting, you can't go wrong. Orivs makes several pretty good rods, and the Silver series are good buys in rods. They, too, are mid action, I believe, alhtough a catalog will tell you for sure.

I have a Superfine Far and Fine, which is a "full flex" or slow action rod. It's a good rod, and easy to cast, but I tend to like my St. Croix in 5 wt much better. It all depends on your casting style, I guess. I like a fast rod, others do not who can cast circles around me. I think the fast rods are better for nymphs, but the slower rods do fine, also.

Good fishing, which ever rod.
