Help me out here. Many of the messages on this board (mostly dealing with Jones Bridge) describe success on the Hootch with caddis flies, stimulators and searching nymphs (like the gold ribbed hare's ear). Yet I've had very little success at Island Ford with these. I've had some success with Woolies and just a little with Pheasant Tails. I've seen others catch trout on stonefly nymphs (one 10 year veteran fishes stoneflies almost exclusively) and on blue wing olives (one recommendation and I watched someone catch a bow on a blue wing olive).
Jones Bridge and Island Ford aren't that far apart. Are the conditions really different and why? Do the hatches differ that much?
