Just returned from a great trip out west: Part 1-
Flaming Gorge Lodge, Utah(Green River). This place is great. Very reasonably priced, good food, fly shop, good guides, great fishing. Took two guided float trips and took lots of fish-Mostly rainbows in "Section A" and browns in "Section B"-mainly on nymphs, some on hoppers. Average size in the Green below the Dam was 15"-17"! Caught a number 18"-20" fish. These are strong, wild fish. This was my 2nd trip here and the fish are averaging larger this time around. A 3 1/2hr drive from Salt Lake City--VERY worthwhile. Also fished the Frying Pan/Roaring Fork rivers at Basalt, Colorado but that's Part 2 of my report(to follow). By the way -this was all C & R of course!
