And how did you originally find out about the brook trout streams you fish? I assume that you either read about them or picked it up through conversation with other anglers. I've only stumbled upon one brookie stream by accident myself (and it was paralleled by a highway if you can believe that). Very few of the people who subscribe to this board are willing or even interested in walking a couple miles to catch fish that average between five and six inches long. Even if they were, I'm not against telling them where to go. The more people fish small streams and become aware of their fragility, and that of their inhabitants (particularly native trout), the more likely they are to take interest in their plight. Our small streams and wild and native trout aren't something to be locked away and guarded, but something to be shared and preserved. More people taking an interest now equates to more preservation in the future. Erik
