There's one easy access I use quite often. Take 515 to the 60 intersection and go toward Mineral Bluff. Pass through Mineral Bluff toward CopperHill. A few miles past Mineral Bluff you will come to the Hothouse Creek Bridge. Turn lefy before you cross the bridge and stay on that road until you come to the river. Before crossing the bridge turn right and there's public access and parking. Better yet instead of parking continue on the little dirt drive and look on your left for the TVA parking lot. This is a public access and even has steps down to the water. Upstream and downstream from this area is good fishing with dries and nymphs. I have good luck with hares ears and princes under the surface. There's an occasional morning caddis hatch (about 16 or 18 tan) and sometimes a mayfly hatch. BE CAREFUL!! The TVA can't seem to keep the posted generation schedule. I almost lost my dad May 15, 1996 due to an unscheduled water release. It was his first time wading and he could not negotiate the RAPIDLY rising water. He fell and I had to go after him. About twenty tense minutes and and hour on a little island. To get the schedule call 1-800-238-2264. Press 4 then 23 when asked for options. I think you'll have better luck on the lower river. Hope this has been of some help.
