In my opinion, a real down and dirty 4 wheel is neede for that access to Hoods. Mostly I hike it. Nice surroundings, but real tough fishing - real challenging. An alternative? Head west to the West Fork of the Chatoga and its three feeder streams. One is open all year as is the Chatooga. Nice camping abounds and more variety to the fishing - natives ,too!
