: : Any recommendations for a good mid-december trout fishing and camping spot, preferably Dahlonega westward (I will be coming from Birmingham.)? As I do not have yet a Forest Service map (The last time I was there, the office was closed.), good directions will be appreciated. Also any recommendations for flies will be appreciated. Thanks. Larry Wharton

: Larry no doubt-I'd go to Cohutta Wilderness and
: fish the Conasauga R.Take FS630 to Rough Ck.trail
: hike 1 1/2 mile to river and fish up or down.Down
: is quite interesting water.I'm assuming the season
: is open this year as it was last year.If traffic is
: heavy hike up past Panther Ck.trail before you fish.
: Good Luck.GRW.This should be closer to Birmingham.

By the way as you get on Fs 630 you will see a stream
on your right that is Mill Ck.,some will tell it isn't
much of trout stream---that is bull.Be sure its open.GRW
