Four of us fished the Chattahoochee from Buford Dam to the
Ga. 20 bridge Saturday, 12/14. Three flyfishers, using
various assortments of flys, caught and kept 5 fish, 2 browns
and 3 `bows about 11 inches each. Their most productive
was a home tied streamer in a cross rainbow/brown color pattern.
I was the spin fisher of the group. I caught and let go a 13 inch
`bow on my first cast near the dam on a Fox vibrax brown trout
gold spinner. Two 12 inch browns were caught and released later
in the day on a rainbow rapala lure and a minnow rapala lure.
Lots of fish to be had and be sure to see the ranger's post below on
this section of the river. (The last rapid/chute before the Ga. 20
bridge is a heart thumper in a canoe even in low water for a hairboating
fisherman like me). Good luck!
