In response to Hooker's message on why a C&R section won't work on the 'Hooch, your comments are well taken but I think a 5% 'survival rate' on trout from one year to the next is low. Otherwise where would those trophys come from? And if what you say is true why is the DNR dumping thousands of fingerlings below Morgan Falls dam year after year? I realize it costs money to raise trout to a larger "stocking size" than is currently done, but I would rather see fewer but bigger fish. I don't believe the fishermen who want to keep their catch are thrilled catching 6-8 inch fish either. I still think it would be worth a try to set up a C&R section. There are hatches on the river year-round and the water temp. is certainly constant enough.
