Wow ! "Why do I fish?" is one of those questions like
"Why do I love my wife?" or "Why do I believe in God?"
Tough to really answer well, but so important in describing who I am
and what I love. I fish because:
I would rather get up early and eat a greasy breakfast then drive a long way,
then hike a mile or two so I can stand in a stream and MAYBE catch some
fish that I am not going to keep than just about anything else I have ever done.
Flyfishing is a rare thing in that it is a pastime, a sport, a lifestyle, a set of values,
an artform ,and an obsession in some of us.I know in my heart that I am at my best when I am
streamside. I love Norman McLean's line about "there was never a clear line between religion and flyfishing in my family"
My world rocked one day in church when I read in Revelation 1:15 " and his(God's) voice
was like the sound of rushing waters" I feel closer to God when I am enjoying his creation.
I dont know if I have answered your question but I hope I have helped you realize that you have some great brothers.
"My rod and my reel ,they comfort me"
