I had a tenderness and swelling in my groin (this doesn't get as personal as it sounds) last week, so I went to the doctor and he diagnoised me, after first initiating me into the unhallowed realm of adult cavity searches, with a prostate infection. Well, I also showed him some fungi on my foot and a couple of other places and it turns out ot be "athlete's foot" from an old pair of boots. Monday I noticed a pale-pinkish line running from my knee, up my thigh, and ending at my lymph node. so back to the doctor. Now it turns out that I have infact been infected and now have lymphangitis which means staff (sp) or some bacteriae creeped in through the raw fungi infested area of my foot. Its clearing (thanks to antibiotics) up but evidently happened because I chose to escape the heat by wading wet. Perhaps this is still ok as long as you have no open wound or raw or exposed skin. Be careful: sunscreen, wide-brimmed hat, and waders or wound free skin.
Have any of ya'll suffered this same thing? How long did it take to clear up?
