This has been the BEST summer EVER for native brook trout fishing in n.j..
I have caught hundreds of the colorful natives and all within 5 miles of my home.
MY largest was 17 inch and weighed over 2lbs. Thanks to the plentiful rains received this summer
it has and will be a banner year! a secluded tiny mountain brook 1/2 mile from my home
contains a brookie i estimate around 3lbs and 18 inches. Since he/she is too big to move to any other
pool in this brook. I plan to visit him/her 'round late october (after the spawning season) and hopefully
catch and him/her. Look for a photo when i do! meanwhile if there are ANY serious brook trout fishermen in nj or
pa e-mail me re: native brook trout fishing in our area.
