: living in sw ga i wanted to know if there is any good fishing along the Flint River south of Columbus. I plan to be traveling to the northern part of the state in late March but would like to fish closer to home. Thanks in advance..gil
There is outstanding fishing on the Flint, as you may know one of the only three places on earth that the rare Red Eye or Cosa bass lives is in the Flint. Access can be difficult, however a place called Spuwells bluff near Tomaston Ga. is open to the public. You also have the option of a float trip.
Large bream and gar can be caught in large numbers. Best fly patterns are anything black that looks like a hellgramite will do the trick. If you choose to spin fish Rooster Tails and Mepps spinners will do. WATCH THE SNAKES Let me know how you do.
