Hi Kevin -
The Conasauga is open year-round and the Jacks
opens at the end of March. Both are good streams
and hold fair numbers of fish (the Jacks rates
higher on both counts in my opinion). Rough Creek,
which feeds the Jacks holds a few Brooks in the
upper, small waters. While there are a few caddis
and mayfly hatches to match in the Cohutta,
attractor patterns (Coachmen, Humpys, etc) are
generally effective. Nymphs usually produce,
and streamers can bring some of the big browns off
the bottom particularly during and immediately
following a good shower. Good luck.
Best regards,
Dave
