: Have any of you North Georgia anglers found any good flyfishing waters in and around Macon Co. NC.. I am particulary interested in the trout streams/rivers close to the towns of Franklin, Highlands, or Otto. Thanks.

Highlands has some good fishing! I am heading up
there today! The people who own The Fishawk
in downtown Highlands are a good source of info and friendly!
I like fishing the Chatooga river ,which is about 5 miles past Highlands
on hw 28 when you hit a dirt road from 28 go straight and stay on that dirt road about 3 miles.
when you get to a big steel bridge, park and walk UP the river about
1-2 miles(more walk equals less people)
I got into some nice rainbows last fall using wolly buggers(black)
and parachute adams. You can e-mail me if you want to find out more
I will be on that water tomorrow(sat 4/5/97) in
the morning. I have a red VW golf look for me if you want to
