: I used to live in Smyrna and flyfished the Hooch on a regular basis in the eighties and early nineties. I was wondering how the river is doing ? Is there still great hatches in april and may ? I remember fishing the cochran shoal area and witness fish rising all around me,almost like rain hitting the surface of the water. The summer i left Atlanta i helped T. U. stock the river and i dumped almost my entire load of fish in the area between 285 and 41,how is that section fishing ? I see there are strippers in the river now, how did they get there and how is that affecting the trout fishing. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Joe
I fished that area couple of times and had a little
luck. One of the outing I caught a small native.
Both times, we were the only ones on the river. I've
heard of other have better luck. The best places
I've fished are North of Holcomb Bridge.
