: I am from Pennsylvania, and fish small mountain streams catching native brookies. Most run in the 3 - 7 inch range, any over 10 inches are considered monsters. I used to work with a guy from northern GA who claimed he caught "native" (meaning stream-bred I would think) rainbows. Another friend says he doesn't believe there are any self-sustaining trout populations in GA. Can anyone tell me which is the case. I don't want anyone giving away secrets, but If you can name a stream with stream bred rainbows I would appreciate it.
There is no such thing as a "native rainbow" in GA
the only trour "native to GA is the brook. There are sustaining populations of brook, rainbow, and brown trout in GA. Takes some walking and work to get to the big ones.
