: Hey,trout fishing is great in N GA especially
: if you take time to smell the roses.
I couldn't agree more. I am not interested in fishing
much outside of trout in the mountains. The suroundings
are definitely part of the experience. Not only the peaceful
sounds of the woods and the stream but all of the wildlife.
I have walked up on deer at Water's Ck. I have also seen a couple
bears in that area. One came around a bend in Dick's Ck. just 5 or
6 yards from me. That got the adrenaline flowing. Not that it is
likely that a Black bear would harm you... but it could. I have seen
salamanders gobling butterflies, snakes snoozing on teh bank in the
same place over a a few days(it wasn't dead). Seen great horned owls
and heard screech owls. Watched fish doing strange things(a trout
moving rocks across a stream to a pile?). Last weekend I saw a 9 inch
salamander. I have been buzzed by Kingfishers and ducks. Been observed
by hummingbirds and more.
The fishing is why I go but the natural setting is certainly a part of
what makes it so enjoyable.
