A friend and I fished on the Hooch this past Sunday. It was a little cool and windy but we
managed. I caught and released 7 bows and 1 brown on corn using barbless hooks. My friend flyfished
but as usual was not that sucessful. He ended up with 2 bows. He tried 14-18 size dry flies, nymphs, and
other flys without success. The 2 that he did catch were on artificial corn. We have both been experimenting
with fly rods but it always seems more difficult. This was our 5th or 6th time out and the one
with the flyrod always ended up with a lot less fish. Is this the norm or do we need to be better
educated on flyfishing? Anyway, our outting was fun and we only saw 4 other fisherman. They all
seemed to have caught their limits, using corn.
