I have spent the last 2 summers in big sky montana
working as a bellmann at the ski resort there. The
Lamar is my second favorite river, the madison is
the king of my hill. The lamar is a superb river
though. It will be chocolate milk until the middle
of august this year. Your best bet in the park is
the firehole. In Early june the BWOlives will be
superb around most overcast late afternoons. There is
a canyon stretch on the lamar as you are heading east
towards silvergate, the river will be below the road
about 50 feet down a rock face. if You find this strethc
of river you will never, ever forget it. I spent
one of the best afternoons of my 21 years of my life
there. A caddis cloud surrounded the river canyon
A herd of elk in site, and 18 to 24 inch cutt after
cutt!!!! Have a great trip.
