: I am in total agreement with JPool especially with the
bead head nymphs.I would add a size 8 muddler fished
unweighted and weighted(I prefer a tiny shot about
12-18 inches above fly instead of weighted Muddler).
I also like a Montana fished weighted(again, split shot).
JPool brings up and interesting possibility and that is
a bead-headed montana--ummm.One other little bit I'll
pass on- a couple of years ago I was on the White R.in
ARK.(God, what a trout factory)about a mile below Bull
Shoals Dam. They had all generators going and I wasn't
doing much. This ole codger pulled up along side and
suggested that I replace my 14 scud with a one of his
#10 "scud"and put a split shot(even a size 3 shot if
necessary)to get it down. The point the fellow was making
was on the White when the water is high increase size
of your nymphs--well it sure worked out there.Stick with
that Dorato it is a heck of a dry.GRW.
