This is my second reply.

On second thought, a tournament would be a great idea with these rules. All trout fisherman who love the sport and respect the trout ecosystem should meet for a loud, fun dinner early in the season. And all should pledge to use barbless, release every fish, not touch a fish prior to release, and continue fishing alone or with friends as they have done for years. Unfortunately, we have forgotten the tradition of sharing a toast with fellow anglers who share a particular stream that evening.
Then at the end of the season, there should be a second dinner with everyone as winners if we all lived by the rules and could toast to another season past of sport, beauty, and respect for the world of trout.
