It occurred to me that most tailwater trout rivers have a section managed for catch and release but not our "Hooch"! Evidence seems to say that a C&R area will produce more and bigger fish. I would like to see the DNR work on this. I have practiced C&R for years but am dismayed at how many (small) trout are killed by many fishermen. C&R has got to catch on bigger if we're to have great fishing in our future.
Fished the Hooch last week and found them rising to caddis. Took(and released) 17 of which 12 were browns and 5 were rainbows. There's lots of fish-if we would only let 'em grow!
