I have found the most useful book for learning the
sequence of the emergence of mayflies even for NGA
to be Art Flick's "New Streamside Guide"-and be aware
that18-22 Bl.wing olives could always be present.As
far as caddis I try only to match the color(that is
why I am a fan of the Dorato or Adams)If it is a big
stonefly-I use a Muddler(dry).If it is a tiny black
or brown stone---its probably winter and I'm usually
fishing a nymph.Not very scientific,but its worked for
me.
