I have a question that i can't quiet get the correct answer to. Much of the Chattahoochee above Helen is bordered by private property and posted signs. The portion of the river I am talking about is below the WMA on the paved road. Unitl recently, I have fished these areas. Then I read that in Georgia Outdoor News in a Q&A section that it was unlawful to fish a river that was borderd by private property. Although I have not been fishing this area lately, I always notice many, many, people who still do. I know that this area is stocked. I have many friends who tell me while this land is private property, they do not own the river, particularily the Chattahoochee. Finally, my question. Is it or is it not permitted to fish the Chattachoochee below the WMA? If not, why do so many people still do it with a Ranger's station only a mile up the road and DNR continues to stock this portion of the river? Sorry for the long posting. All answers appreciated.
