Big Snowbird Creek (old railroad junction to mouth) is a hatchery supported stream in Grahmn County, NC I think Eric Rudolph is fishing this stream. Good luck.

jeff,
This used to be a good trout stream, until the forestry service ruined it. They are cutting (probably as I write this) several hundred acres along the stream. The service claims that this was required to "salvage" timber that was knocked down during high wind and/or ice storms. If you don't know about the Forestry Service's infamous "salvage" rider that they included on a bill of Congress many years ago, see an environmental lawyer's site at www.wildlaw.org. It's really just another fine example of how the ****-eating politicians can ruin our environment and trout streams!! Anyway, an environmental attorney, named Ray Vaughn, who lives here in Montgomery and runs Wildlaw tried to stop them, but a federal judge denied his appeal. *******s!!! Sorry, but the whole thing just infuriated me.

jeff,
Forgot to tell you that the actual total acreage of timber that was really down total just a few acres (maybe even just one), but he FS said they needed to cut more than 100 acres!! Losers!

Well, that stinks. Someone said it had tremendous Brookies in it, and at the risk of being slammed - I've got a 23" Bow mounted, and a 18" brown. These were caught in my early days and neither is a wild fish. If I caught one of the big ones( like the ones that seem to be 6 or 7 lbs. ) outta Smith's, He'd be going on the wall, too ! I really would like to have a Brookie, they are my favorite trout. I wouldn't keep one from a wild stream, but then again I wouldn't crucify someone who did. I wouldn't think much of their actions, but if they caught it, it's their fish. Oh - sorry to open THAT can of worms again !
