Thsi is going to be a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone had some hip boots in a boot size 13 that a friend of mine could borrow for a one day trip to NC in Oct. He's thinking he wants to try trouting, and I hardly have waders to cover myself. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
I'll ask again closer to next month.....
We did determine that DH starts Oct. 1st right? http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif ...............joy.
Owl, I have a pair of Ranger felt bottom hip waders in size 12 if you need them. We don't live to close together, but surely between now and Oct. I will be in Atlanta at the Fish Hawk or something. If you want to use them let me know.

I have some also-12 or 13 -don't remember. Redball Rangers-bootfoot-don't even remember if they have felt or not. I would have to dig them out. You are welcome to borrow.

I usually wet wade until the first of November. The streams are typically fairly comfortable at that time of year....unless your talking about standing in water above thigh level.
I suggest some Chucky Tees with felt bottoms.

Thanks for teh replies...I'll let you all know.....this fellow has never waded a trout stream, so I thought I'd break him in easy.. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif

Owl- why hip boots, not waders? My philosophy has always been hip boots may be cooler in shallow water, but all it takes is one good trip and the hip boots are full of water? I've sat on my butt midstream in waders when I fell and stayed dry. What don't I know?

I have an ancient pair of hippers sitting in the garage. Size 12, but they run big. I've worn them twice in the last 15 years. If they don't leak, your buddy can have them. I'll bring them to the Hooch cleanup. Are you going to make it?
I should have mentioned, they are not felt soled.

Do you mean DH in NC or GA? GA is November 1st , I think.

Unless we get some rain pretty soon, all your buddy's going to need is a pair of goretex socks and tennis shoes. At this rate, he/she won't even get their ankles wet in the deep pools. Got to go now, my swimming pool just caught fire. I know this: Come January, you want here me complaining about rain and cold. Pity the poor guys roofing my latest restoration project.

Eg, wouldn't you like to know. http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/wink.gif
Hippers ? I just thought someone would loan an old pair of hip boots easier than there new goretex breathables....and they'd be easier for the novice to use....no boots to worry about, etc. etc.
Unfort. I won't make the clean-up.
See you at the fling.

Unfortunatley I gave those away about 2 months ago. I've heard its the onset of old age-its called some timers disease. Sorry dude.

Well, I guess I've progressed from some timer to all timers disease. Owl,I do have the hip boots if your buddy needs them. Better hurry the aliens may ask for them back!

I guess the easiest thing to do , if you guys don't mind, is to just bring a few to the FLing, and we can let him borrow the best of the lot. He's so excited he catches me everyday at work and asks me something about it, or says how excited he is....we've been working together for almost a year and he just now overheard me talking about fishing.....he doesn't listen well as that's all i ever talk about! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif hahaha
Thanks ALL ! http://www.georgia-outdoors.com/ubbngto/smile.gif
