Any tips on which flies to use??
I'd definitely carry some small bead head nymphs like zug bugs and prince nymphs. Streamers work well on the large trout in the trophy section. As for dries, you never know, but I did well there last fall with small olive caddisflies 16-18. Also, since it is so dry, I would bet a Letort's cricket or hopper near the banks would produce fish. Also, stop by or call Hiawassee Outfitters on the way in, as they usually have a board with river hatches. Tell me if you need the number. They also have a fly which is called something like a Madame X's Tarantula that apparently produces well there, but my partner didn't catch squat with his. Enjoy, it will be a beautiful weekend.

No luck except on an Adams. Although we caught very few fish, I thouroughly enjoyed the Hiawassee and plan on returning.
