Chris,
There use to be several . They are now under the surface. One is just below Hwy 120 Bridge and 2 others are below the boat ramp . You can identify them very easy. Before Duluth was ever "settled" by Mr. Howell , the indians had a ferry at what is now the 120 bridge. Below the boat ramp the indians had a couple of fish wiers that crossed the river from east to west. These old wier areas are two of the best holding areas to locate . A little further down stream (behind River Green Bus. Park/ soccer fields) there is 2 or 3 great runs . If the river is low enough , you barely get your feet wet while fishing both sides of the runs from the center of the river . Though the river is quite deep on either side before you can reach the middle.
There are a couple of small creeks that enter the river in this area (120 - State bridge) that are usually very productive as well. The river rises very quickly in this stretch.Once you notice it coming up , make for the shore.
