That is the question...

I have a friend coming into Atlanta this weekend and want to take him fly fishing for some trout. I'm trying to decide between the Hooch and the Ami, but I haven't been fishing since a trip to the Ami just after the first delayed harvest stocking...

The reports I've been hearing on the Ami haven't been exactly encouraging... For those of you fortunate enough to fish regularly: Where would you go?

I want to stay reasonably close to town, we can only do a partial day trip...

Any advice on location and/or what kind of flies have been productive would be greatly appreicated! thanks.

Hard to offer good winter fishing with only a half day to travel and fish. I'd try the Ami, and bring as many flies as possible to show the probably few remaining fish something different....

they're still faster than we are.......

thanks owl.

I'm leaning towards the Ami... I can fish the Hooch anytime.

SCOTT,
GO WITH THE AMI, IT MAY BE CROWDED ON THE WEEKEND BUT THE FISH ARE THERE. GET AWAY FROM THE BRIDGES AND YOU WILL HAVE BETTER LUCK. I THINK LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE NOT MOVING BECAUSE OF THE TREES DOWN ON THE TRAILS. I HAVE FISHED IT EVERY WEEK SINCE THE FIRST OF THE YEAR AND THINK ITS GREAT. I WISH DNR WOULD WATCH IT A LITTLE CLOSER AND MAKE IT DH YEAR ROUND.
E-MAIL ME AND I'LL TIP YOU ON SOME FLIES AND A COUPLE OF GOOD SPOTS.
GOOD LUCK.
