12/22/98 - MAJOR UPDATE - So many photos! Thomas Fallucco sent in some very strange photos of an albino trout? taken from the Etowah - you have got to see these to believe. I have placed them in a new section on the photos page called "Oddities and Ends".

Also got a couple from Spinner and a few of my own from Nacoochee Bend (remember those freight trains I spoke of...here is the proof!)

I also want to thank Drifter for setting up a Web site for the 1st Annual NGTO Fly Swap. Speaking of Drifter he has done a real nice job with another Web site he has put together called The Virtual Fish Camp - also listed on the Resources page.

If you haven't seen the Message Board lately we have added a new forum called "Warm Water Talk" - should be some interesting threads.

Please also take a moment to browse the NGTO Events Calendar - Jimmy Harris from Unicoi Outfitters has taken a lot of time to add some important happenings that everyone might want to be involved in such as stream improvement projects, kids fishing days, classes, and more.

Finally, a while back ALG suggested we have some scheduled chats and I think that is a good idea. Sunday nights seem to work best for most - so how about those interested meeting in the Chat Room around 7:30 Sunday, if nothing else we will see how our makeshift chat system holds up!

If I have forgotten something or someone - please remind me and thanks everyone for making this a fun place to be! Happy Holidays!

Spinner - I honestly don't know exactly how big that fish was. I held it up to my rod, which only goes to 24 and it was larger but I didn't keep it there long enough to make a good guess. I always have a problem with getting good pictures and/or measurements because I am so paranoid about killing the fish. It was a big 'un though....as far as the Coleman, I don't remember who sent me that, it was awhile back I think.

Aaron...Is that a typical days fishing when you caught that monster?? I might have to come south soon if it is...What is your estimate on your longest/heaviest trout you have caught...That rainbow really looked fat..There are no native rainbow up here...Mostly browns and every once in a while you stumble on a native brook and it goes back in the water immediately..The farms for years used to much crap on their fields and killed off almost every trout until about 15 years ago when the DNR started cracking down on atrazine use and farm animal run-off...The trout population has bounced back..The DNR and many clubs up here stock all browns..We just recently have started stocking brooks...We tried rainbows but they just couldn't make it through our harsh winters..My taxidermist friend just had his pet brookie die...He mounted...It is beautiful..It was a male and it was 26 and then some inches...I guess it at 6 to 7 pounds...It was fed with liver pelts for 9 years...He has a male rainbow on his wall that is awesome...29 almost 30 inches..I miss trout fishing..I sure hope March comes soon..The board really helps me get my trout fishing fix....Thank you Aaron..Spinner..
