Its been at Gwinnett County Civic Center for last two years. About 95% flyfishing. Mfr's. ,dealers, artists, flytyers, outfitters, casting demos. I went year before last. Missed last year. I met Flip Pailot, Chico Fernandez & Lefty Kreh. Even gave Lefty some Leftys Deceivers that I tied. Lefty autographed his pattern book for me, Chico signed it too. Leftys my hero. He's 73 yrs.old now and going strong. Lefty gives a great casting demo where he makes beautiful 30-40 foot casts only using half the rod. Proof positive that casting is in the caster and not the rod. Haven't seen the notice for it yet this year but is usually in Feb or March. Maybe flygURL can enlighten us. Would be great time for NGTO to have a table and member get together.
Wow! This sounds like fun. I'll definitely be on the look-out for this!!!

Anyone who saw Lefty 's casting demonstration last year had to be impressed. I don't care how good of a caster you think you are, watching that 73 year old man cast is a humbling experience. I'm 48 years old & in good shape, but I think the mans got more energy than me. (It's just not fair) Anyway I wouldn't miss it. Jimmy - I'll look for your booth so I can put a face with all those posts I've been reading.

Sageboy,
Okay, but it may not be a pretty sight! I mean, I'm not so bad to look at, but we plan to have a couple of our guides there also. Just wanted to prepare you.

Can anyone give me directions to the Gwinnett Civic center?. I live in Marietta and will be going north on I-85.
thanks in advance
ken
The Civic Center is simply to get to. Going North on 85 exit on GA 120 (first exit past GA 316), go left back across 85. Go right on Satellite Blvd (1st light, going north). The Civic Ctr is on the right. Alternate: Go to Sugar Loaf, go left to Satellite (south) and Civic Ctr will be on right.

I had problems accessing the Shallow Water Expo page with the URL posted. I did some snooping and found it at:
http://www.castlow.com/swfe.html
There is an impressive list of sponsors listed!
Would any of you fishheads be interested in meeting at an Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, or some such establisnment to consume "m****quantities" before heading to the Expo?
I believe the hours for the Expo are 9 to 5 on Sat, and 9 to 4 on Sun.

Slight revision to directions I post recently. The Hwy 120 exit (42) is temporarily closed, use the Sugarloaf Pkwy (42a) Exit, it's actually closer.

What is the day of preference Sat/Sun ? According to the survey on the home page only 6 or 7 people so far say they are going. It asks about only the 27th. Whats the Trout Primer. Never seen anything on that.
The Trout Primer is on Sat. 27th from 10-2 at the Buford Hatchery, I will have more details soon....but I can tell you, although it is smaller than the expo - it is as much fun! If you haven't toured the hatchery this is your chance!
