The Georgia Foothills Chapter of Trout Unlimited is holding its annual "Hoot on the Hooch" at Unicoi Lodge on Saturday, March 20th. The $20 admission fee includes dinner & gives you access to all the prizes, bucket raffles, silent auctions, & rod/reel raffle.
Some of the items to be taken home by someone are: 2 complete Orvis rods with Battenkill reels & Cortland lines, a framed Tom Landreth trout print, 2 days & nights with meals at a private cabin on the Jacks River (plus 2 days of guided fishing on the Jacks!), fishing trips at Nacoochee Bend, a 2 1/2 day flyfishing school at Orvis in Sky Valley, a fishing trip on a private section of the upper Soque River, plus many more items of interest to both anglers & non-anglers.
The banquet is only the conclusion to an entire day of "trout" at Unicoi State Park. There will be free seminars (both in the lodge & on-stream) throughout the day that are open to the public. There will be fly tying, rod building, where-to-go sessions, & more. For more specific information on the events of the day, call Ellen McConnell at 706-878-2201 (Unicoi State Park)

PS: We are selling 150 raffle tickets for the rod/reel outfits. That means a one in 75 chance to win! A $10.00 donation will get you a chance & all proceeds from this & the other raffle/auction items will go toward the Soque River Outdoor Classroom & other conservation education projects of Trout Unlimited. Your presence will not be required to win one of the outfits. Anyone interested in making a donation may contact me at "unicoi@stc.net". I'll let you know how to do it.
