For those of you with kids, or anyone who knows of any kids that they would to introduce to fishing, I would like to point out a few upcoming fishing opportunities.
First off, Saturday June 5 and Saturday June 12 are both free fishing days in Georgia. This is a great opportunity to introduce young anglers to the sport. Secondly, the DNR (Region IV Fisheries Section) is sponsoring an Adult / Child Fishing Skills Workshop Series at Marben PFA at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center. The first clinic on April 10 is Freshwater Fishing Basics-An A to Z Overview of Fishing. May 8 features a clinic on Flyfishing Basics, and on June 12 we will cover B****and Bream Fishing Techniques. All programs are at CEWC on Saturdays from 10-3. Call for pre-registration and more info (770)784-3059. P****this info on to anyone that may have kids and want to take / teach them fishing but doesn't quite know how or where. Thanks.

Ted...

NGTO is in the process with GA Women Flyfishers, Outdoor Adventures, and a coup;e of other spocers in setting up a Kids fishing day on the Hooch in Roswell. We should know some more details soon and they will be posted as I get them. It looks like for the time being the scheduled day will be May 22nd, but this is subject to change.

I will keep thing posted and up to date.

Thanks to both you guys for the info. I have two questions, where is the Marben Center? (Think I spelled it right) I have seen a couple of posts about it before.
Also what can I do to help? I have a seven year old daughter that really wants to learn. I'm the typical impatient parent. Would love her to be involved, especially in the flytying areas.
Email me with what I can do.
