How's the Chatooga in Oct?

Planning on going to the Chatooga - West Fork next weekend. Wondered if the water is up any and what they're hitting? (flies). Going to camp 2 nights - any ideas on spots other than Burrells Ford? Maybe on West Fork. Thanks.

When I checked the hydrograph for the Chattooga a few days ago it appeared to be up a little after the rain but inless we get more it'll be back down to where it was soon. I w****up there a few weeks ago. Try fishing small stimulators or a Hemingway Caddis in the fast, frothy water - you'll need something both you cna the fish can see in the broken water. We tried dredging the pools with buggers but no luck - the active fish seemed to be in the fast, well oxygenated water.
