Have a week free for a drive camping trip to some new flyfishing water. Would like to hear recomendations on places to try. I like mt streams and rivers more than tailraces. I am looking for a fun and unique places to fish even if they are hard to get too for once i have some time not just a day trip.
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

For what it's worth, if you get around to Boone area, feel free to e-mail me. My brother lives in Boone and occasionally guides for Foscoe Fishing out of Foscoe, N.C. (basically Banner Elk, sugar Mtn area).
I know you said you prefer mtn streams and there are about 700 miles of them wihtin 2 hours of Boone and the Watauga is about an hour away, a great tailwater with a Trophy section. there is also the Holstein (sp?) which I understand is a fantastic river to fish and will test your ability to the fullest.
If you go to or near Charlotte, N.C., let me know as well. A good friend manages the West Bank Anglers fly shop in Charlotte (a huge 6,000 S.F. store) and he knows the area there pretty well.
Good luck, enjoy, keep 'em tight!

Don't leave a backcountry trip in the Smoky Mountains National Park out of your agenda.
I have fished Deep, Noland, and Hazel Creeks and the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River. My latest trip was to Hazel just a couple of weeks ago. Fishing was great!
E-mail me if I can be of further assistance.
