Any luck with these on the Hootch? Time of year, colors, etc?

Loren,
I had some luck with these this weekend. I finallly got out after a two month layoff. I fished Jones Bridge for about two hours. Mainly in the shoals, but found myself past the island as well. I fished the San Juan, red and orange, with a nymph that is a white hackle. The guy didn't know the name of it that gave it to me. I took five browns and one rainbow. The rainbow was on the nymph, the browns on the worm. I hadn't heard of anyone using them around here. I found out about them in Montana a couple of months back.
I was fishing in the morning, around 10:00. I can't wait for this turnover thing to end. Does it last all winter?

Loren,
I can't say I've had "luck" with the San Juan worm, but I can say it does draw strikes. The two times I've tried it, I ended up with a hook and a short piece of chenille left. Something, a trout I presume, had grabbed the worm, but missed the hook. DRAT!
p.s. One was red, the other a dark tan, size #14.
