What do you guys think of breathables? Spend $360.00 for a pair of Simms, Or $129.00 for a pair of Orvis Clearwaters. Remember, the orvis's are warrentied for four years. I think the simms have a one year warrenty.
Thanks, The Rat
P.S Santa brought me a Ross Cimmaron #1 for the rod that you guys helped me choose.
Redington has new breathable waders for $169. 4 Year unconditional warranty (Orvis is 4 year pro rated). I've heard they are durable and comfortable. Have not seen or tried them yet. I think almost anything is better than spending $350 for waders.
I own the Clearwaters and they work fine. No holes or leaks after 4 months but the material is thin. If the Redingtons are as durable as the catalog description, I'll get a pair.

I got a pair of Cabela's breathable waders for my B'day in sept. No complaints so far.
however, they do seem a little then, I have not had to do much walking through the woods and brush yet, I'm curious as to how they will hold up.

I have a pair of SIMMS Guide Weight Pants and love them. I have used them 45 days (see my fishing logs @ http://www.kbrcomm.com/btwc/)
and they are just like new, (well the fabric is a little dirty) the are holding up great, and are very comfortable hiking in even in warm weather, just add fleece for cold water/weather. Money? Sure they are expensive, but then I'm worth it!

Hey Wooly,
I visited your site. Nice job. I like the way you incorporated pictures into it. I hope you don't mind. My friend, Michael Allen, is starting up a guide service on Lanier, for stripers. He has had great success the past couple of years, and is going to be getting a page up with his log. I emailed the URL to him for ideas. That is beautiful country up there. I could see 250 miles for that.

I would have to agree with woolly bugger on this one. I looked at most of the other brands and went with the simms gortex wadders. They felt and looked alot more durable than all the others and upon talking with the people at simms I found out that the come with a 2 year replacement warranty.
I have purchased alot of simms products in the past and they are a little higher in price but I have never had a single problem with a simms product and in the long run they it pays off.
Great Product!!!!! :)

I have a pair of the Simms uide waders which are two years old with 100+ days of fishing on them. If I were to wash them they would look like they were new. Excellant choice.
