If it takes about 6.5 hours for a water release crest to reach Jones Bridge, when would it be considered fishable (for wading?). Do they release water every day?

Also, when tying a nymph dropper to a dry fly hook, won't the weight of the nymph pull the dry under water? Is the dry just mainly used as a strike indicator and occasionally gets a hit?

Rich....

The water usually takes some where around twice the time to go down as it did to come up. At Jones Bridge the time would be somewhere around 12 hours or more pending water levels before the release.

As far as the dropper system goes you want to use a dry dropper that is able to support the weight of the nymph. Most nymph's, even beadhead are light in the water and have very little effect or pull on the dry. As an example I use a #14 prince with a # 14 or #12 caddis and with the aid of floatant it does just fine. The Dry does act as a strick indicator, but will catch as many fish as the nymph if the fish are hitting dries. Stimulator's are great for fishing the dropper system...they get the fish's attention and then they nail the nymph. Remember to false cast once in a while to keep the dry in the best floating condition.

Good luck......
