Could someone please tell me how to get to Beech Bottom Falls from Atlanta, and is it true that you can go cliff jumpng there?
Please resond by Friday, Aug. 27th, as I'd like to go this weekend.
Thanks!
It's on the Jack's River in the Cohutta Wilderness north of Chatsworth. That's all I can help you with. Call the Forest Service in Chatsworth. The number is 706-695-6736.
I couldn't tell you about cliff diving, I normally wouldn't even use the two words together in a sentence.
I meant "jumping". Told you I don't normally use them in a sentence.
Got to agree with the EG I don't know of a single place on Jacks river That I would jump into it.
I think I may know what you're talking about, though you won't see me doing it. The falls there are a two stage deal. Above the main cataract, there is a shorter fall that creates a big, beautiful plunge pool. It makes me nervous, since it looks like if you screwed up you could get swept over the main fall, but I've often seen people swimming there.
I suppose there's a place or places where you can jump off the rocks into that pool. I would never vouch for the safety of that, though. Knock yourself out on a submerged rock and bye-bye, over you go.

Someone please fill this person in on the girl that drowned, stuck under the rock in the Chattooga. I don't know if they ever got her body out.
